The second edition of “I have WHAT?” the intriguing book on Multiple Myeloma by Debra Berenson is now available.
The first printing is sold out! I am busy at work on a second edition. I am excited to announce that there have been many medical advances since I wrote the book, and that Jim (Dr. Berenson) has updated his chapter. Also, I have added a few new chapters that I believe will contribute a great deal to the book. One is from a psychiatrist,
Dr. Robert Dolgoff. Another is from a nutritionist, Mary Donkersloot. And lastly, is a chapter from an acupuncturist, Dr. Xiuling Ma. Also, there will be a few new patient chapters–Steve B, 60s, Professor of Economics, Jay C., 70s, basketball player, and lastly, Dale H. 70s, screenwriter.
I am so happy that patients, their families, and caregivers find “I have WHAT?” a helpful resource. It is shocking, devastating, and scary all at the same time when someone is told he or she has cancer! It helps to know that other people have been in the exact same situation as you are right now.
How did they face the diagnosis? How were they told the news? How did they tell their families? Friends? What were their symptoms? What medications or therapies have they been on? How did they respond to each medication? What worked? What didn’t work? What made them feel better and what made them feel worse? How are they feeling now? How long have they been battling MM, MGUS, Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia or amyloidosis? Do they attend a support group? Who is treating them? These are some of the questions that are discussed in detail by patients and/or caregivers.
Onward to finding a cure!
Best wishes,
Debra Berenson
